Tour to Lodz

Lodz developed in the 14th century. Until the beginnings of 19th century it was still an agricultural town but since the first textile complex called Nowe Miasto was built in 1823,it started its rapid growth to finally become the Polish textile industry with population over 800,000 people today. It was the city of contrasts where vast fortunes and poverty existed side by side. Today it still can be seen in the architecture of factories and opulent mansions contrasting with ramshackle homes of the factory workers.
