Tour to Auschwitz – Birkenau from Warsaw

The concentration camp in Auschwitz was established by German Nazis on the outskirts of the town Oswiecim in 1940. After the war, the camp was turned into museum displaying evidence of the genocide. Block no. 11, known as the Death Block, was where people were murdered also at the “Wall of Death”. Outside the camp, there is a gas chamber, where 70,000 people were killed in 1940-1943. A film made after the liberation of the camp is shown in various language version in the museum. In 1941, 3 kilometres from Oswiecim, in the former village of Brzezinka, the German Nazis established a new camp called Auschwitz II Birkenau. In 1942-1945, approx. 1.5 million people lived and died here. Most of them (90%) were Jews, others were Poles, Gypsies, Russians and prisoners from 28 countries of Europe, people of all nationalities and political and religious persuasions. Since 1944, transports of prisoners from all over the continent entered directly through the “Gate of Death”. In 1979, Auschwitz – Birkenau Concentration Camp was listed a UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site.

OPTION 1: TOUR BY TRAIN THROUGH KRAKOW (lunchbox included)

TOUR SCHEDULE:

  1. Around 2,5 h of train trip from Warsaw to Krakow ( STANDARD TRAIN – around 5:30 a.m. ; PREMIUM TRAIN – around 6:30 a.m.)
  2. Arriving to Krakow train station and meeting with our driver
  3. Participating in Group Tour from Krakow to Auschwitz Birkenau
  4. Sightseeing inside the Auschwitz-Birkenau Camps with local guide in choosen language up to 3,5 hours
  5. Free time in Krakow 
  6. Retrun to Warsaw by train

*The Train Station in Warsaw is easily accessible but If you need morning and evening transportation in Warsaw, the price will be 200 PLN higher in total. Alternatively, you can use Uber/Taxi or walk to the train station if your hotel is nearby.

**The option with a premium train in the morning incurs an additional cost of 100 PLN per person.

Visiting Auschwitz during COVID-19

Please remember about the safe distances between visitors while waiting for entry and during the tour. Visitors should enter the Museum with their mouths and nose covered, please take a mask with you. You are obligated to hand disinfection in a non-contact hand disinfection apparatus. Before you go to Auschwitz you need to know.

You are not allowed to enter the museum in Auschwitz with any food (drinks, sandwiches etc.) however you can leave everything in the car/mini-van/bus which will be closed during your visit in the museum; You are not allowed to enter the museum with bags bigger than A4 sheet size so you can leave them in the left-luggage office (an extra pay) or leave in the car/mini-van/bus. During security control you must declare all the electronic items, watches, belts, keys just like in the airport. To avoid any delay you will need your collaboration.
